I just received my m1530 and i'm loving it! i've started decrapifying it as well as the tweaks and its going well. Unfortunately, i didn't get the earbuds and cd case so im gonna call later and try to get a gift card.
I have a question about the dell wireless remote, is there some secret compartment or something where you can put it when your traveling with the laptop, or do you have to carry it in your pocket wherever you go?
Also, is there a list of updated drivers that i can install for video card, network card etc?
Should i get rid of dell support center, or will i actually need it?

The wireless remote fits in the expressCard slot on the right side of the laptop. The laptop ships with a plastic thing that fits into the slot so it isn't empty, but if you push it in, it clicks and sticks out so you can pull it out. Then you can fit the remote in there :)

I have a question of my own for you.. what kind of LCD did you get? You can find the model number by going to Device Manager -> Monitors -> Generic PnP Monitor -> Properties -> Details -> ByHardwareIDs (or something like that) ..

there is no ByHardwareIDs but there is Hardware IDs, for that it says "Monitor/CMO/1555"
anyone know how to check the brand of the monitor? i knew at one point...

I would recommend to stick with the ones from Dell for a while... thought for video card you may want to check out the ones available in M1330 drivers n downloads page.. you may want to check out this thread though for the video card >> http://forum.notebookreview.com/showthread.php?t=278394

As for other drivers, one way if browse through the makers website and see if they'd got new ones.. I got couple of them from sigmatel n marvell yukon some time back.. though i dont see any big difference to the ones shipped with the system.
