Does anyone here use the Kensington Lock Slot with a Kensington/Belkin/Other Security Cable to lock their XPS M1530? And Do you recommend it?

I am going to college this fall (first year) and will be living in a dorm w/ roommate. Does it really protect?

its more of a deterrent than protection.... u know how flimsy the actual port is... and cable cutters can cut your cable....
