So a week ago I was eating grapes by my brand new m1530. Bad idea! One of the grapes blew up and grape juice went all over the right side of my laptop! Didn't seem to cause any problems, but then I noticed that my backspace key is sticking ever so slightly, causing it to make an abnormally loud click.

I'm not sure as to how this keyboard works, so I was a little reluctant to start pulling at the key hoping it would be able to come off, without breaking, of course.

What would be the easiest way to clean under the key? Do the keys just pop off, or would I break something if I tried?

    Thanks!

    Hi

You can try a couple of things here:

    1) Let the keyboard dry. The first thing I'd do is to use a hair dryer or vacuum and dry up that backspace key. Might solve your problem without needing a more painful and direct keyboard clean.

    2) Use a small toothpick to see if you can get at the grape gunk without removing the key.

    3) If all else fails, you need to unscrew the keyboard and pluck out that backspace key. Clean the grape gunk out, then put it back. There's stuff on the net on how to do this.
