Ok, so I just recieved my new xps1530, and it has a slight bulge in the keyboard like so many people have commented on. Now, I figure this isn't too big of a deal since I can just ask for a new keyboard, rearrange a few wires, and fix it myself; but I've since noticed another problem that appears to be a bit more severe. It seems as though the bulge in the keyboard has created a slight bulge in the LCD screen (when you look at the gap between the bottom of the screen and the laptop itself, you can see that the gap is not even). Anyways, I was wondering if I should either:
A: ask Dell for a new screen and a new keyboard or
B: fix the keyboard issue first and then try to flatten the bulge in the screen by applying constant weight to it (i.e. put a book on top of the closed notebook for a night)

Now, would plan B actually work? If I can safetly do that while permanetly correcting the problem, then I would rather try that, but otherwise I'll just contact Dell. Thanks in advance for your help! :)

Hey there...sorry for what is happening with the keyboard...There are ton of threads on this... ;)

Here is one that may be of help:
    http://forum.notebookreview.com/showthread.php?t=239152

Here is a Dell Support Doc. showing how to remove the keyboard if you want to fix:
    http://support.dell.com/support/edocs/systems/xpsM1530/en/SM/keyboard.htm#wp1179994

I don't think you want to do Option. B. that you have listed. ;)

Is it bent..? How bad is the bulge in the LCD screen?...if it's noticeable and going to be a problem...then you may want to call Dell.

    Hope that helps,

    Cin ;) :)

I am a bit confused.. are you suggesting that your keyboard has caused your entire screen to become bent as well?

Do you mean that because of your keyboard bulging when you shut your laptop it touches / moves the screen ?
