My keyboard in my xps m1330 has been hardly working since I changed out the motherboard. It works, but half way. I'll press a key like 7 times and maybe it will come up 2 times. My friend told me I should update the keyboard driver but I went to the dell support Site and couldn't find any drivers for a keyboard. I've taken the keyboard out and out it back in but same problem. Am I going to have to buy a new keyboard or is this a driver issue, if so could someone please post a link. Thanks!

I would vote that its a keyboard issue

    they are not that expensive

other than checking the alignment and seating of the ribbon cable, keyboard is the next logical step

If you disable the trackpad, does it have any effect on the keyboard?

i didn't note this, but the track pad acts weird too. it hangs and moves around like it's lagging or something. it's unusable. i updated the synaptics drive but still no dice. it wouldn't let me disable the track pad in the device manager, it was grayed out, but i did uninstall it and it had no affect on the keyboard :( i feel like it's something else because they are both barely working, but unusable. i don't mind using a mouse, but they keyboard is a real bummer

OK. So, what happens if you unplug the trackpad (i.e. remove the ribbon cable from the slot it plugs into on the motherboard)?
