So i'm getting a l702x, my EDD is the 26th.
Does anyone know if the keyboard from an l701x would be interchangeable. I really dislike chiclet keyboards so if anyone has any insight i'd really appreciate it. If so, anyone wanna trade? I'm getting a backlit keyboard, so naturally the other one should be too. And lastly, if not how would i order just that part as i don't see any on eBay. Anyone know the part number off hand from Dell?

If you compare the service guides, the L701x keyboard has 4 tabs at the top that screw it into the chassis, whereas the 702x doesn't and has little clips instead. So i'd guess not. But I don't have one to see whether you could cut the tabs off the 701x keyboard and somehow bodge it in. That's assuming they're the same size, thickness, shape, etc.

Thanks zygotic, good catch. When i was looking at the manuals I didn't even notice that there was a difference in the screws...

Well i'll probably end up testing this anyways. If it doesn't work Dell will take the part back for 21 days I'm told.
