Hey guys I received my new XPS 15 9560 and the Wi-Fi keeps disconnecting all the time! It's so annoying and is happening very frequently.
I've tried the following:
Reinstall latest drivers from Dell site
Remove/uninstall device from device manager and reinstall latest drivers from Dell site
Go back to a known working version on my alienware 17 which has no problems
None work! Can anyone help?
Cheers,
Pete

I hate killer as well.
Also, Killer has even higher latency I found out, Eventhough it is marketed towards gamers and says it reduces ping, I pinged router with intel 7260ac and killer 1535ac, intel is constant 3ms to 4ms while killer jumps from 4ms to 8ms. Spiking to 12ms sometimes.
People say drivers from killers website, are the most stable ones. (no killer suite, driver only)

If you have time, willingness to open up your laptop and $25. You could get yourself a nice intel wireless card like 8260ac or 8265 ac and you'll be fine. XPS 15 is a relatively easy laptop to work on despite of how thin it is.Pete Light likes this. -

Hi folks - we have just posted a new wireless driver and software suite that addresses a known issue on a small percentage of systems where the Killer Wireless module will drop the WiFi connection when passing a large amount of traffic. We have worked closely with Microsoft on this, and have identified a fix. This fix has been confirmed with several users that currently have the issue and we have posted a new software package. Please visit the link below to get the new driver: http://www.killernetworking.com/driver-downloads/item/e2200-e2400-wireless

The killer network drivers says they are for Killer E2200, E2400. How do I know that they will work for Killer 1535?
Another thing is, anyone notice how the guy from Killer network manage to sneak in a phrase that says the issue only happens with a select few people? Obviously his job is to do damage control when it comes to Killer networks reputation, so he tries to make it seem like the issue is less than what it really is.
I have this issue and the disconnects stopped the moment I plugged in an ethernet cabel to the usb-c adapter, and I really doubt that only a few people are experiencing this issue.
But at least I appreciate your effort to let us know that you might have a fix for it.Last edited: Mar 2, 2017 -

Also you may want to update manufacturers to update their sites so this can be avoided on the future

I tried to remove old wireless drivers from xps and install the new ones, but after i removed old wifi drivers, restart, and i got back to desktop, the system starts to begin freeze every 2-3seconds and end up after 30secs with BSOD (video tdp error) :/. Had to restore system back...

I can confirm that the solution did NOT solve the problem. It made it last longer though, but the card still crashed the router. New maxed out Dell XPS 15. I am asking dell for a different wifi card.
-
NO, it didn't help any bit. Router froze right after killer wifi was connected.

It could be my router being 3 years old. But, it also crashed McDonald's wifi that I couldn't reset. Now, that's a card you may or may not want to use depending on the situation ...

Oh dear!

Do you still need to manually install the driver or will a new XPS automatically load the newest drivers today? If not today, in a week? Or are you stuck having to manually find the latest drivers for a long period of time?

Manually find in my experience

This driver isn't marked as official yet so I think last week it pulled down the older driver still.

Hey guys, I think I found a fix for the Killer 1535 issues. I applied this fix over the weekend and I've had zero issues since. I started by removing the bottom cover of my XPS. I then located the position of the 1535 card and noticed it had a screw and bracket holding the wires into position. I took out my little screwdriver and began to remove the screw and bracket portion. From there, I began to remove the wires. At that point, I removed the 1535 card. At this point, the slot is empty. Finally, I inserted an Intel 8265 WiFi card and began to put the XPS back together. My laptop has been rock solid ever since. An added bonus, my router no longer crashes!

New driver on Dell's site. Seems to be the same as the Killer rep posted here.

I've joined this site literally just to leave this message. I've installed the updated Killer wireless drivers that were released specifically to address the disconnect under load problem:
These show in windows hardware manager as running driver version: 12.0.0.296
I've given up with this I've ordered an Intel 8265 and I'm going to take the Killer wireless card out and throw it out a 2nd story window in to traffic.Pete Light likes this. -

It is intriguing that the recent generations of wifi chips have brought a bunch of new tech like MU-MIMO which seem to be mostly advertising speech rather than practical improvements, more likely resulting in connection disruption than benefit. Mind the problem might be on the router side - there's a bunch of routers with half-baked MU-MIMO implementations out there.

Driver 12.0.0.296 is a fairly old driver. We are currently on 12.0.0.448. Before replacing your adapter, I would suggest heading over to our site and updating to the most recent driver release. You can grab the latest Killer Control Center here - http://killernetworking.com/driver-downloads/item/killer-control-center-x64 or the driver-only installer here - http://killernetworking.com/driver-downloads/item/killer-drivers-64bit, if you prefer. You can also reach out to us directly at http://killernetworking.com/about/contact and we can help you solve your specific case.

I had the Killer 1525 in my MSI laptop and since mid December have been experiencing continuous disconnects from our WiFi network when watching Netflix, Twitch, or downloading files. With Netflix it was not uncommon to get 20 yellow Netflix 'you are not connected to the Internet' alerts in a 1 hour episode of something. It had a peak-trough effect, regularly experiencing a burst of download speed for maybe 20 seconds followed by a disconnect from the network and a reconnect with about 15 seconds of no traffic while that was happening. I tried many proposed fixes, latest drivers, etc. all with no luck.
Since I didn't have this issue at all with my work laptop or mobile devices, although admittedly I didn't test these under heavy bandwidth conditions, I assumed it was my wireless card. So based on this thread, and another on the MSI forum, I went ahead and bought an Intel 8265 and replaced it last night. Attaching those two antenna clips was an extremely trying experience (I speak as someone who's never opened a laptop up before). However much to my dismay the experience was exactly the same with the new card, in fact in some respects it felt the worst it's ever been...
I then had an idea to set up a guest wireless network through the router settings, and set up two, broadcasting on both the 2.4ghz and 5ghz bands, strictly for my own use and with my own password, since our router has about 7 people who depend on it. To my amazement I haven't had a single disconnection all day having tested both bands, despite some heavy Netflix and Twitch use, along with browsing in separate tabs at the same time (which has been impossible for the last month).
