    Hi,

I was downloading some large files such as Netbeans and Virtualbox and as they provided MD5s of the files I decided to check against them. They were both incorrect so I downloaded them again. This time I got completly different MD5s than the previous time. I done this one further time and got a third set of MD5s. This causes problems installing the software etc.

After some thought I realised the Free Fall Sensor could be causing these problems. As I use the laptop on my lap I can have it at an angle at times and theres movement occasionally which may be causing the sensor to interrupt the download.

I uninstalled the FreeFall Sensor driver, restarted and redownloaded the files. Both files downloaded perfectly and the MD5s matched. I have downloaded them a further time and again, they match.

I am interested in hearing if anyone else suffers the same problem?

EDIT: The problem has since started occuring again. I forgot to mention that Dell replaced my previous hard drive when the same issue was occuring.

I have not personally had this issue. I don't see how the free fall sensor could cause the issue and that item is designed to save data rather than cause corruption by parking the drive head. Worse case scenario you get a temporary pause in windows while the drive spins down then back up again. Make sure you don't have any weird intermittent connection issues.
