Does anybody here have the XPS 15 with the Intel Ultimate 6300-N Wireless Card? I just so happen to have the Intel Ultimate 6300-N sitting around and wondered where the Black and White wires hook up.
-
Those are just the antenna wires that connect to the wireless card. I don't know if it matters which terminal they connect to or not. The antennas may be a specific length to coincide with a particular wireless type.
Dell's documentation on the L501x is pretty good, I suggest you take a look on their support site for it. -
Hopefully that is all you need. -
Thanks. But the problem is that the Intel Ultimate 6300-N has three spots for wireless antennas/wire hook ups. I'm just assuming that it'll go in slots one and two?

sorry to ask a dumb question, but when you order the xps with the best wireless option, you have to PLUG things in? it isnt all just built internally?
-
They come installed, the guy who posted this thread had another card sitting around that he wants to install
-
I have the 6300 card but I'm at work right now. I'll check when I get home in an hour or so. But, I don't think I matters where the antennas go.
-
If you could, thanks. I am looking forward to installing the card into my XPS 15 when Dell fixes my laptop.

Thanks. I'll give it a shot.

EDIT:
So, I finally got the info I needed:
Intel Wireless-N 1000:
D P/N: V830R
Price: $7.99
Intel Advanced-N 6200:
D P/N: 2GGYM
Price: $27.99
Intel Advanced-N 6250 + WiMax:
D P/N: MW04C
Price: $74.99
Intel Ultimate-N 6300:
D P/N: 4W00N
Price: $47.99
Amazon.com has the (legit) 6300 for cheap (if you add in tax and shipping charges to the Dell prices):
http://www.amazon.com/Intel-Ultimate-633ANHMW-802-11n-Adapter/dp/B0038A9HSK
Do you guys have any recommendations?
Thanks!

I also wanted to upgrade my wireless card in my L501X. Did anyone happen to have a Dell Part Number for:
Intel Advanced-N 6200
Intel Advanced-N 6250 + WiMax
Intel Ultimate-N 6300
As I am debating between the three, price will be the main factor unless someone has a strong opinion on one.
Thanks!
