Hi, I have a L502X. I connect it to DVI through a cheap mini-displayport -> DVI adapter & it works fine. However I had to connect it to a VGA projector. Someone in my office had an apple mini-displayport -> VGA adapter, however this gave no signal on the projector, and the laptop didn't recognise that there was a projector connected.

Is there any particular reason it obviously wouldn't have worked?

I've had issues with the Apple connector. Figures, right?

My home LCD monitor works without flaw through it, but when I try to hook up to a projector system at work, no dice.

My apple one works for DVI, may or may not be revalent but just thought it might help.

Also another person told me it shouldn't matter

    Just to follow up...

I purchased the Dell-branded Mini-DisplayPort-to-VGA adapter and it works flawlessly. The Apple one does not.

Both work fine with my home Dell LCD monitor, but the Apple one fails with the projector systems at work.

I have no idea why, but for the record: Apple sucks ;-)
