I'm thinking of getting a L502X but want a Bluray ROM / DVDRW drive and alot of 2nd hand/eBay items dont have one fitted.

Do i just need a 12.7mm SATA optical drive and it should fit no problem?
eg NEW SATA HL CT30P Blu-Ray Combo BD-ROM DVD RW Laptop Drive 12.7mm UK Seller | eBay

Is it difficult to change the optical drive or is it just a couple of screws and it slides out, push the new one in and replace the screws?

    Thanks for any help!

I have only installed an optical bay hard drive adaptor but it was pretty easy to get in/out.

At the bottom of the l502x there is a giant panel that u remove to change the ram. There is also a single screw holding in a piece of metal that is attached to the dvd drive. After unscrewing it, you can just slide the whole thing out (you will need a bigger screw driver though... the regular laptop ones are too small and will strip the screw).

For me, it was as simple as unscrewing the piece of metal from the original dvd drive (again, two small screws are all that hold it together) and screwed it to my adaptor. Then, I snapped off the face plate and put replaced the one on my adaptor and after sliding the whole thing back in and securing it with that one screw it was good to go.
