I have the L502X. I want to upgrade the existing hard drive, which is a the WD7500BPKT. I'm looking at a Seagate, model STBD750100.
I've replaced and upgraded many desktop parts over the years, but never a laptop. I have two questions:
    1) is the Seagate drive a match for the hardware in the L502X, or do I need to upgrade anything else?
    2) How easy or difficult is it to replace a laptop drive?
    Thank you.

Yeah, it looks like it's a standard laptop 2.5" form factor, so it shouldn't be a problem. Of course, opening up the laptop and replacing has me a bit wary, not having done this previously.

I changed drives in both my l501x, and 502x, standard laptop drive size, and yes a pain to get to as I had to dismantle the laptop to get to the drive.

find a nice clear spot to work on and keep track of the screws.
