I am planning to open my laptop and repaste the CPU + GPU.. I have searched through the forum for detailed instructions but have been unable to find anything.

    Any guidance/links would be appreciated.

    Thanks

Monitor your temperatures. If they get to around 85-95C, I would first clean out the laptop's fans. If temps are still high, do a repaste. You probably only need to do a repaste every 1.5-2 years. Cleaning out dust is probably the best thing you can do to keep temperatures low.

I'm going to repaste my wife's L502x today too..let see how it goes :)

Edit: Just finish it and temperatures looks fine. It was a little bit time consuming but not really hard, thanks for the tear down picture link, +rep it helps a lot.
