    Hey all,

I had to get a replacement for my XPS 15, but during my brief session with it, I quickly tested out the HDMI out.

First the output was set to 720p, so I went and changed the resolution to 1080. Thing is, it was displaying at 1080i. Does the HDMI out on this PC not support 1080p? My TV most certainly does - is there a setting I missed or something?

Just thought I'd ask while waiting for my replacement.

I suppose it does according to PCMAG

I have also bought the xps 15 and had screen and heating issues and they messed up my order so I ordered a new one again and returned that one.

How do you like the laptop so far (assuming it didn't have issues)

Hmm yeah that article didn't help... thanks tho.

I like it a lot. The only thing I noticed was the red saturation is a bit high. I didn't get around to adjusting it. My screen went on the fritz within 2-3 hours of getting stuff set up so I had to request a replacement.

Now I play the waiting game. Can anyone confirm that their HDMI out is indeed 1080p and not 1080i?

For those that find this thread, I figured it out.

Go to Screen Resolution and click on Advanced Settings. My refresh rate for my TV was set to 29Hz Interlaced. Change it to 60Hz or higher if supported.

Voila. Changes from 1080i to 1080p.
