Is it possible to install a Samsung SN-506BB into a L502x? The drive should be compatible as it is SATA, but is it possible to remove the bezel from the current DVD drive and install it on the new blu-ray drive, so that it looks flush in the chassis?

yes on all counts (I believe). It's a standard size drive (not the new 9mm drives) and the bezel clips off and installs on your replacement drive. I can't say for 100% sure it would be ok on the Samsung drive you have quoted as i'm not familiar with it but as far as I'm aware, they are fairly standard. I changed mine when I owned a L502x to a Sony (Optiarc) BR-writer.

    Thanks!

Can I use VLC for Blu-Ray playback or do I need something other?
By the way, can the Roxio SW, which came with the L502x burn Blu-Rays?
