I have an L502x and it is equipped with a blu ray drive. It also has core 17 and nvidia GT540m.

I just rented a 3d blu ray and figured that i could use powerDVD to play the movie and then output it to my 3dtv(my laptop doesnt have the 3d display). However, when I go to output it, I get an error saying that the 3d blu ray player cannot locate a 3d display. Im connecting using HDMI so it should be working. Any suggestions?

Are you using the right cable that is capable of handling 3D transmission? I believe you need high speed HDMI cables for 3D.

I think the cable needs to be HDMI v1.4 or higher, yes. v1.3 seems to be most common and has the bandwidth from what I recall, but can't send 3D signals.
