Guys, like my subject, my L521 is stuck at the Dell logo. What happened was on a previous BIOS update, whenever I use restart, my L521 would be stuck at the Dell Logo. Usually pressing the power button would shut down the laptop and then I can start the laptop again. Since then I no longer press "restart", so I would use "shut down" and then press the power button to restart the laptop.

Today, I found out that I had a BIOS update from 2013/01, so I downloaded the update and tried to install it (hopefully that it would end the problem). Lucky me, when the L521 restarted, it froze! Pressing the power button does nothing, nor does the F2 or F12. What should I do? It has been an hour already, nothing is happening. I unplugged the power cord hoping that when the battery runs out the laptop will have to shut down. But does anyone have a advice for me? Thanks in advance!

only think I can think of is to pop the base plate off and disconnect the CMOS battery, to force a BIOS parameters reset.

The Owner's Manual has details to do this.
