I'm lucky to get more than 3 hours of battery life when using the computer for light work (no games, no videos, no music, etc), and that's using Dell Extended Battery Life, screen brightness turned all the way down, keyboard backlight off. When new, it would go for 4-5 hours.

Does this sound right? Anything to look for?

How long have you had it for? If you use the battery a lot and drain it down all the way then it'll have reduced capacity.

I've had it for 6 months. I've drained the battery down to under 10% about a dozen times.

yes that sounds fine to me, batteries dont last a great amount of time, cold conditions help them along a little so find a guide on youtube to show you how to freeze the battery or something to improve battery life.
