Sorry if this is covered somewhere else. I am having a hell of a time finding info on here. The search screen just crawls for me.

I purchased an L702X with a 2720QM and 3GB GT555m. It is plenty of horsepower for me now. My question is, what is the CPU socket of this unit?

    988-pin micro-PGA (rPGA988B) or 1224-ball micro-BGA (BGA1224)?

My reason for asking is I have been drooling at the prospect of one day upgrading to one of the yet-to-be-released Ivy Bridge Core i7’s listed over here:
Intel Core i7 Mobile microprocessor family

Maybe the BIOS and/or HM67 chipset won’t support them, but they are offered in both socket types, have the same thermal design power and 5ºC additional headroom on max operating temp.

it is the 988-pin Micro FCPGA - which is standard for this generation of i Core mobile CPU's
