    8GB RAM
    Nvidia 555GT (3GB)
    i7 2.2Ghz

That's all good, but how about display? FullHD or HD+? Isn't FullHd too big for 17''? But I heard HD+ doesen't have sRGB. So which one?

it's OK, I have one... be prepared to turn some detail settings down on the latest games (battlefield 3, skyrim etc) but for the price it's a great allround system with decent cooling, great soundsystem, pretty good graphics card that's very overclockable etc

Get the FHD, I had both screens on the XPS 17 and 1920x1080 is not bad at all on a 17.3" laptop screen. Neither is a super-awesome screen, but the matte on the FHD is also a good thing, the 900p HD+ and other glossy screens just reflect waaaaay too much.

555m is the way to go too. It's a great card, while it may not be a GTX series card, it holds its own well, especially when overclocked, which it does a lot of!
