    All the time used SPDIF
then once the time has passed to upgrade the BIOS to 14, all drivers and SPDIF stopped working, no red light.
Tried to return all drivers back and bios but it still does not work ...
    May be laptop had broken?

I just remember, that i install +2 gb ram
Where can it be a problem?

My SPDIF output quit working after I had used it once, then disconnected the laptop from the SPDIF connection.

What curred it for me was to go into the Control Panel Sound applet, Playback tab and right click on the SPDIF output. I verified it was Enabled, and set it as default. It was setting it as default that turned it on again.
