Those who own XPS 17 could you check the power cord please?
Like, does it look as if it was half-way through in,on your laptop? like, does It easily wobbles around when you move your laptop. Like, you can clearly see it's not in completely.
I'm trying to find out whether it's an design error or a defect on my laptop.
Also when the HDD light comes up does the battery light comes up along with it? Not fully it just blinks... when does it come up anyway, I thought it had to light up when the adapter was connected or it's there for some other reason?

There is "play" in my connection. If you look straight down, you can see light between the end of the chord and the laptop.
I think the light that you see from the HD to the battery is a "bleed over" from the HD light, which to me is very bright.

by the way I just noticed something if you move it gently up and down the whole hole is moving... is that really normal? on XPS m1730 it's in right to the end, and it doesn't wobble around if you'd turn the power cord around...
Surely that's a defect ... or is it not? -
Checked mine and see that it is securely inserted into the port. No wobble or gap either.

Mine was loose, talked to customer service and they sent a replacement. Replacement was a little better. I wished it was tighter because I tend to move my laptop around alot.

Mine isnt exactly tight either but theres no connection issues from the wire to the socket so im not bothered.

Mine is pretty tight no gap. I remember on my E1505 it was so loose I could blow on it and it would fall out. My ASUS had a solid connection that snapped in place. No clue why Dell uses such a garbage power plug connection.

My original was firm, the replacement is loose. It's fine for now, I will be all over Dell if it gets worse...I have to watch it if I take the battery out when I am on outlet though which I prefer to do...
