Hi all, this is my first post

my msi gx600 died after 5 hours on the day i received it, so i am sending it back and thinking to get a dell xps M1530

my question is, do the UK xps M1530 come with LED backlit screens? theres no mention of it on the customisation area, i checked the USA site and it mentions LED for their version, so does the UK have it?

also, with the 9 cell battery, is it really bothering that it sticks out? might go for the 6 cell so it looks better, but theres a 8 day delay on that battery, hmm

    thanks for the help :)

No, you can't get the LED screens in the UK. Even though the XPS line costs far more than in the US, we still get less for our money.

there are several very good reasons to go for the 9-cell

-it positions the keyboard in a much more comfortable position (like legs would on a desktops keyboard)

    - The gap it creates is ideal for airflow, as the intake appears to be at the gaps widest point. Less overheating, longer component life.

    - ALL lithium batteries degrade and loose charge over the years which is why dell dont cover them on warrenties. If you start off with a 6-cell that gives around 2.5 hours life, in a couple of years, it may give less than an hour, whereas a 9-cell in the same amount of age, may still deliver an acceptable 1-2hour+ life.

    - It acts as a very handy lip to clutch onto when carrying the laptop around outside its case.

    Hope that helps

If you really want an LED screen from Dell UK, you may want to consider the 1330 in the alternative.
