Hi there
I own an XPS M1710, I was trying to find information on this but I could not find any... other than using the quickset software, is there any way to turn off the LEDS on the laptop, preferably using the keyboard? Or is there any way I ccan set that up? Also, is there a way to set up the LEDS To turn off when you close the lid? I find that when I close the lid (but the laptop DOES NOT go into standby) the LEDS stay on. I think it wold be better for them to turn off when the lid is closed, so yeah, is there any way to do that?
-Thanks

i too have been wondering about this since i got mine. i usually leave the LEDs off, but it would be nice to be able to shut them off by closing the lid or with some sort of shortcut

I have never heard of a way to do this. I can't imagine that it would be that difficult to program something to do this, considering the fact that there's programs made to use the LEDs with media players and stuff, but as far as I know there isn't currently a way to do that.

the program route sounds interesting - what I would do is find the wire that carries the charge to the LEDs and make a simple switch, or just cut the LEDs altogether. My acer has a bunch of very bright lights at the top (bluetooth, wifi, hdd, etc) and it came in the way of watching movies. I just made a switch for it (and before I did, I was using black electrical tape to cover it over)
LEDS on XPS M1710 - shortcut to turn off?
