I've used VLC, MPC-HC and they both feel jerky and laggy in full screen... what's up with that? I thought this laptop can handle 720p and 1080p but they just feel laggy, anyone know a solution to this problem?

Balanced. The default on a new copy of windows
I reinstalled with a fresh copy of windows, could this be a missing driver problem or...?

Try high performance and see if it plays smoothly but balanced should have been good enough I think. Are you running more programs in the background?
Computer>system properties>device manager> see if you have all drivers installed from there (if you're missing a driver you will see a yellow icon)

Ok so apparently, the graphics card in my XPS 15 (nVidia GT 525M) can't handle madVR :S
once i uninstalled it from my computer, everything plays smoothly...
Weird... anyone else have troubles with madVR on their XPS 15?
