The graphics card on my laptop
XPS M1710 quit totally and I am
    considering replacing it.

The computer is high end so I am
thinking i will keep using it.

BUT, where can i get a replacement
graphics card and is there more
    than one available?

I dont want to spend a huge amount
on a older laptop like this.

    thanks.

biggest problem is there are no new cards for the M1710, but you do have allot of options as far as GPU's go.

any of these below can be used.

    ATI X1400
Nvidia 7800 go (aka 7800 go vanilla)
    Nvidia 7900 go GS
    Quadro FX1500M
    Nvidia 7900 go GTX
    Quadro FX2500M
    Nvidia 7950 GTX
    Quadro FX3500M

I would warn you most of these cards sold on eBay are porbably baked cards that will run for some time but will enentually fail.

Have u tried baking your card yet ?

Any non-7900/7800 should last alot longer. Just look at a used X1300/X1400 Mobility.
