You could always start with, well, anything. The newest Nvidia drivers, the things already listed on the Dell website, all of the Intel drivers, etc, they're really not hard to look up. Expecting everybody else to do your work for you while you reap the rep points is kinda lame.
-
If you could post what updates the drivers provide that would be helpful too..specific bug fixes, less power consumption etc..
-
is there any chance to appear drivers on 32 bit? because i would like to install windows 7 32 bit
-
XPS is new series, obviously most of us will be having updated drivers. Anyways thanks for your tip, updating the OP now
-
And also feel free to comment & give some tips, I shall follow them always.
And I will update OP again
Thank you
-
why do u want 32 bit? I dont think it offers anything that 64 bit doesnt..except driver support but i think that can be fixed with virtual pc
-
Newest set of Realtek audio drivers killed my Quickset WAVESMAXX hotkey :-/
-
sometimes newer is not better, but worse.
. Thanks for testing it out and letting us know.
.
-
^^yes, thank you

I needed to run te .exe 2 times. First time it uninstalled the old driver, the second time in installed the new driver. The driver works fine for me.

I have bought Autocad Map 2008 (with licence) and most of the programmes that I use in my daily activity (e.g. softs like Topo LT, Surfer; drivers from total station Leica TCR 407 and GPS machines) are not compatible with OS 64 bit.
Thus, I really hope that these performant computers would come with the drivers for OS 32 bit, because there are many others in my situation, who cannot currently use OS 64 bit (e.g. as detailed above). -
There are lots of people in your situation, and you're who they make business laptops for. The designers of the XPS series made it a consumer / multimedia laptop, not a portable workstation for AutoCAD, so no need for 32-bit drivers. If you got a Latitude I'm sure it would have come with 32 bit drivers.
That said, you can get most of the drivers you need right from the manufacturer. Go to nvidia.com for video drivers, intel.com for chipset, rapid storage, and wireless drivers. Go to synaptics.com for touchpad drivers. Try looking at the Dell drivers page for similar Latitude laptops or older XPS laptops (like the 1640) and see if they have drivers that you could use. Check out sites like Station-Drivers: le site de drivers, bios, firmwares avec un forum d'aide
