i just recieved my xps m1530 and so far im loving it i have no complaints :) .
im about to buy some blank dvd disks but i was just wondering if the laptop uses lightscribe technology? and if it does can anyone tell what software is needed. i heard it might be nero but im not sure which version

one more q if i want to install another operating system to dual boot with vista like XP or linux do i have to wipe my hard drive clean and partition then reinstall vista and the other OS? or can something like Acronis disk director allow me to create the seperate partition with vista still there.

    thanks in advance.

No DELL XPS'S do not use lightscripe technology. HP'S are the ones that use that along with other brands. It wouldve told you right on the dell website when your looking at the model.

You do not have to wipe your laptop clean.

Well thats all i needed to hear :D
cheers for that bro, i heared that acronis is a joy to use so i'll grab myself a copy. with that said so far vista has been quite refreshing its a much bigger overhual compared to every OS since 95 in terms of looks. though it likes to munch on memory and i really haven't gone too technical into it.

thanks itsjustmerob, seeing how alienware uses it even though their seperate companys dell owns them so i thought dell might use them too. looks like black ink gonna have to do.
