Would appreciate it if any Linux users with this laptop could clear up a few questions I have -

    - With all the optimus problems, how well do the open source graphics drivers for the integrated Intel chipset cope with 1920x1080 resolution?

    - Any other known problems with wireless drivers?

    Cheers

Can't help on wireless in Linux yet. But I have X running at 1080p from an Clarkdale (ie desktop) i3 and it's IGP. It's my PVR and happily plays large .mkv files at 1080p - while being nearly idle. Had to use Debian squeeze rather than lenny for suitably recent ALSA (sound over HDMI), kernel and X.

It's not a laptop and I don't have discrete graphics in there - if you're wanting an Optimus equivalent I'd guess it won't be around for a while but look at the link below
