    Hi!

I'm using a Dell M-1530 laptop which had a factory installed Vista OS. Now I have bought a Windows 7 Home Premium 32 bit OS and did a clean install (no upgrade), I used the Vista drivers and everything seems OK...

But, I have not full upload speed, I'm using a 10/10 Mb/s fiber/LAN internet connection. Download is as before 9,5 Mb/s but upload only ab. 3 Mb/s.

My second PC, a desktop with XP, shows 9,5/9,5 Mb/s and they are connected to the same router. I have changed LAN-cables but there is no change.

I have tried "DrTCP" but it did'nt make any major difference. I'm using a swedish speed test www.bredbandskollen.se

I would be grateful for any hint what to do!

Is there a software running in the background uploading something or limiting bandwidth? Did you try updating to the latest drivers?

No program in background or upload running. The Vista drives is downloaded from Dell web page, they should be the latest (Dell approved)!

Just now I'm using LAN cable and have shut down the WiFi network.

For ab. 2 hours I downloaded the latest driver from Marvel (2010-02-15) and updated the network card, but it didn't make any difference!

I'm confused over this reduction in speed and just now I have no idea what can cause it!

My Network card is a "Marvell Yukon 88E8040 PCI-E Fast Ethernet Controller" and the driver I installed is this: http://extranet.marvell.com/drivers/driverDisplay.do?driverId=206 And this driver is my NIC and for W7 32 bit.

I have tested my PC at a 10/10 Mb/s WAN in a friends house and the speed was the same as at home.

    Problem solved!

It was McAfee IS (problably the firewall) that choked the upload speed.

Tnx all for trying to help me!
