I got the 64 bit vista version for free from dell and i installed it, have all the drivers running by using the guide for 64 bit drivers located here but my overall benchmark went from a 4.1 to a 4.0. My "Desktop performance for windows aero" dropped by .1. Should i be worried?

Thats related to your 8400gs drivers.
Windows Experience Index is ****, it doesnt mean anything.

you should use futuremark benchmarks to get a more accurate synthetic benchmark.

    hope this helps

windows inbuilt benchmarking is crap. dont believe it. if u need to asses the real juice use something else like sisoft sandra ir futuremark or 3dmark. certain info tools like everest and hwinfo 32 comes with benchmarks also
