I don't know if anyone else has had as many problems with the m1210 as i have. I have to have the camera/mic on my m1210 replaced 3 times because for some reason it wouldn't work anymore and under device manager it cameup as a unknown usb device. Also I had my motherboard replaced 3 times once because it hooked it up to an external monitor throught vga and the whole computer shutoff and never came back on. and the 2 other times because the usb ports on the left side started acting up no matter what i hookedup to them external hard drive & game controller it would connect then disconnect constantly. I am really glad about the system replacement but I am not to sure about vista. I have been reading alot about it and managed to disable alot of stuff like all that popup notifications. And 1st thing i did was a clean install I have the system 3 days so far and there only been 1 problem i havent been able to use. Thats Allok Video Joiner for some reason as soon as i hit join i get a blue screen and a restart. but here the specs of my old system and my new 1.

    M1210 Windows XP Pro
    Core 2 Duo T7400 2.16GHz
100GB HDD (Upgraded to 320GB Purchased Seperately)
2GB Ram 667MHz (Upgraded To 4GB Purchased Seperately)
    256MB Nvidia 7400 Go
    Dell 1500 Wireless Card
    8x DVD Burner
    Dell Bluetooth 355

    Replacement System

    M1330 Windows Vista Ultimate
    13.3 LED LCD Display
    Core 2 Duo T9300 2.5GHz
160GB HDD (Replaced it with me 320GB)
    3GB Ram 667Hz (Upgraded to 4GB)
    128mb Nvidia 8400m GS
    Intel 4965 Wireless Card
    8x DVD Burner
    Dell Bluetooth 355

I really like the system replacement but what a really miss is having 4 usb ports. & I realized that there is a gap at the bottom of the LCD where the dell logo is. It doesnt fit flush like its been played with but this was a refurbished system. Dell gave me a run around with all the replacement parts with my m1210 but did a great job with the m1330.

I am waiting on my replacement, should be here in 7-14 days. Here's my tale of loss and redemption:
Not so long ago, I bought a gently used M1210 from a very nice guy in the FS forum. Everything worked great except that for one of the audio ports. As I have 2 little kids and was planning a trip soon, I called Dell to see if they could help me with this relatively "minor" issue so they could both plug in headphones as there are 2 headphone jacks. The tech guy spent about half an hour installing new drivers etc but to no avail. He then arranged for me to get a new motherboard as he concluded it was a hardware issue. Let me state that I was actually hesitant to do this as it seemed very DRASTIC but since it was under warranty (thank God), he said I should Go Ahead and get it replaced. So the tech came and replaced the motherboard but it still didn't work. I actually didn't have the heart to tell the tech that and figured I'd just buy a $2 splitter for the headphones.
Unfortunately, the New motherboard bought on an onslaught of much bigger problems. I had screen flickering *(when the battery was Low and I would plug it in) and the DVD player made some very high-pitched disturbing sounds and if I accidently touched the DVD drive or tilted the laptop slightly, it would Buzz and I actually saw sparks coming out at one point. So, I had to call Dell again and this time they insisted that I send the laptop in for a thorough analysis. I was pleased that the turn-around time was only 3 days! But my joy soon turned into sorrow.
It turns out that they swapped out the DVD drive as well as giving me a new A/C adaptor as the cord on one end had shipped to me stripped. All of the drivers were missing which was fine as I could just call Dell t so they could remotely locate the drivers for me as I always seem to have trouble finding ALL of the necessary ones. For some reason, we had great difficulty setting up the remote access. And then, while I was on the phone with the tech, the screen just Blacked Out. And the tech spent about an hour trying to "revive" it but alas, no success. I think the motherboard literally "fried" as it smelled faintly of burnt wires. He then said that he would send another tech over with a New LCD screen, HD, and 3rd motherboard. At this point, I argued that in essence, I needed an entirely new laptop and they should consider doing a swap as my record with the tech was not very encouraging. And his manager agreed ! Hopefully, my specs will be (nearly) as good as the OP's or even Alexzeons' with the SSD! Will post the specs when it arrives, hopefully by the end of next week. Morale of the story: ALWAYS BUY DELL WARRANTY and/or a $3 headphone splitter !!!

I just hope that the Replacement (refurb) system will be trouble-free!
