Does anyone know if the new Intel Core 2 Duo "P" series chips are compatible with the M1330? Specifically I'm looking at the Core 2 Duo P8600 as a potential upgrade more for the 25W thermal design than the speed bump from my T7500.

I realize they have have the 1066MHz FSB, and I see Dell doesn't offer them as an upgrade option. TIA.

Nope, different motherboard required to run them, You're stuck with last gen processors.

Yeah, I thought so...thanks. I just don't see the T8XXX being worth the money compared to my T7500 and the T9XXX are just too expensive. I plan on keeping this laptop another 1.5 yrs or so, so perhaps when/if the prices ever drop I'll pick up some sort of upgrade.

Good idea. I upgraded to the T9300 when I found a stellar deal on one.

Yeah right now the jump between the current processors is cost prohibitive for aftermarket upgrades. The current price for T9300 is well over $300.
