I'm just about to download the new Win 7 RC, but started wondering if I should go 64bit right away?
I'm just going to do a clean install (it's a year since last anyways...) so I'm not upgrading from Vista. I'll be taking backup off-course and making a list of all installed sw so I can easily install them in the new OS.
Anyone done this? Are there any issues? What can I expect? Which drivers wont work?
I have the A15 bios, 4GB mem and will do an upgrade of the processor as well.

If you can find the drivers for Vista x64 then most of them should work right away, The ones that do not can be compatability troubleshooted by windows 7 and forced to install.
Ive installed windows 7 on mine and everything is working just fine using a lot of vista x64 drivers. good luck -
I'm running Win 7 64-bit (RC1) on my M1330 - Windows update found most of the drivers, and for the remaining ones, Vista's x64 drivers work fine. Much snappier than Vista x64, plus around 20GB less HDD space used.

same here, m1330 with windows 7 64 bit...
everything found by windows update besides the bluetooth drivers... still have to download the vista drivers from dell and perform the FN-F2 trick(dell support has a small program to toggle this bluetooth when you are stuck here) to get it to work
M1330 & Win 7 64bit? Will it float?
