I just got the XBOX 360 Controller for Windows(controller with USB receiver)

i've read reviews that the USB receiver requires a lot of power for it to work correctly... i've tried plugging it directly to the USB slot on the m1330, but no 'new device' popup came up, and the USB receiver doesnt have the green light..

does anyone who have a m1330 and the USB receiver got them working directly?

I've used my friend's m1330 with my usb receiver and it worked just fine. It should automatically find the driver. If not, you should just manually install it from the MS support site.

i've installed the drivers already.. its just that my computer isn't detecting(or supplying enough power for) the receiver...

i'll try it on my friend's laptop... see if power is an issue

Did you get yours recently from Dell when they were on sale for $20?

I ordered 2 from them and just got them today and neither one of the receivers with power up on my 1340 or 3 desktops here at work. I cant figure anything out other than it was maybe a bad batch of hardware.

    yep.... got them from dell

theres a post on a website saying that theres a fuse inside the hardware that limits the current or something... if u bypass the hardware(solder a link past the fuse), it should work... i contacted microsoft to see what happens first.. if they dont want to give me a new one, i'll try the solder method

I soldered one of mine today and it worked right away, hooked up and loaded the driver.
