I formatted windows on my M1330 and tried installing XP x86 however when i put the disk in and boot from CD it starts the windows process and when it says 'Windows is starting' it will hang there for 40 seconds then a blue screen will appear saying:

    STOP: C0000221 unknown Hard Error
    \SystemRoot\System32\ntdll.dll

    Any ideas? Thanks

    1. did u create new partition with partition creating tool which is in XP instalation.
Need to delete old partition which was made by vista and crete new one by XP - before u instal XP
not just format- delete and create new!

    2. or u have some inappropriate driver for your hardware -can be SATA driver
