    Hi,

I've noticed over the past couple of weeks that about 5 minutes after booting (into Vista Home Premium SP1) my dvd drive makes a wierd noise as if it's trying to eject something.

It's sufficiently different from the "standard" noise when you press the eject button that I'm slightly concerned - it's much more vigorous and sounds like plastic snapping

Has anybody else had a similar problem?

    Thanks,
    dr_98_98

    P.S. I've had my M1330 since March 2008

I haven't used Vista in a while (except for right now, because I was tinkering too much :)). When I started it up, I didn't really notice anything strange. When I hit eject with no CD mine sounds like earee-ronh-rah (best way I could type it.) Record the sound with the built in microphone. It should travel through the case, so you shouldn't have to turn up the volume too much.
