Recently my laptop became quite loud, rather noisy actually.
I do not know what happened, because now the FAN is spinning all the time.
If I boot up my system, the fan is already rotating very fast.
I flashed my BIOS to the newest version (A14) already.
I checked my hardware thru the Dell Diagnostic program and
apparently everything is working functionally.
What's the problem here?
THANKS in advance.

The M1330 has a poor cooling design which causes the GPU to get very hot. Couple this with the fact that the newest BIOS (actually all from A12 and up, maybe even A11) all turn the fans on earlier and turn them off later leads to your situation. If you have an nVidia M1330, check out the links in my sig.

sesshomaru Suspended Disbelief!
Is it a whining, grating noise? You might need to clean out the vents..
If that doesn't solve the problem the fan might need to be replaced.. -
no the fan is clearly running faster.

Yes, as I said - this is just part of the new BIOS. It's meant to help preserve your GPU from dying. If you don't care about that, you can downgrade to A10
-
hep!
i downgraded to A10, unfortunately the result is the same. the fan is just as fast spinning as it was before.
maybe another nvidia video graphic driver (an older one) can help here?
however, the website offers the newest one only. -
You can try video drivers from laptopvideo2go.com
Also sorry about that, A10 is the last revision before the "Thermal Enhancements" and can be downloaded here: http://support.us.dell.com/support/...eid=R184583&formatcnt=1&libid=0&fileid=252274
Also, you can try dusting out the fan with a can of compressed air as sesshomaru said, but I don't think that's your problem (though it can't hurt!) -
well, as i said - A10 won't do the trick. I'm currently running on A12 again, and the newest nvidia driver.
i'll try to clean up the fan although i dont know how to. i'll figure it out.
thanks for all your help.
if the problem will still persist, i'll call dell and convince them to send someone over. -
Yeah, I'm having the same problem. Customer Service recommend replacing the fan and motherboard. I argue back it's a video card issue, and well they understood that and said it will solve the problem.
I'm planning on getting a replacement w/ a X3100, is that big of difference of performance? I don't game i just watch HD movie and a use HDMI once in a while to a 1080I screen.
SPECS: 2.4GHz, 4GB RAM, 320GB 5400HD, 8400M -> X3100? -
M1330 FAN is running, running and getting on my nerves ;d
