Hi everyone. I use my laptop M1330 with games like 8 months (Is one year old). I overclocked it to use Far Cry 2, Halo 2, the witcher and other games like Call Of Duty 5. I have like 15 games for the PC. The games runs great, still call of duty 5 runs great by 30 min. And then runs very slow and have lag. I dont know why. Then I check heat issues because the laptop heat a lot, still I play COD 5 with cooling pad. Then I read about M1330 Problems, still I dont have any. I download nvidia monitor to check the temps, When I playing COD5 the GPU Gets more than 90C!!!! then it downs its clock to cooler itself but the game become slow.

Well, In these days I was playing GTA San Andreas, A undermanding game and after a hour the games runs very slow. I thought GPU heat problems. I check again temps. The GPU go to 80C normally and this not is normal. Well I dont play the game. several days after I heard a sound in the PC I hear closer and it was from the Fan. Then I take out the fan and se a LOT OF DUST, I dont know how the air pass throught the dust barrier in the fan. I Clean it and pour 2 drops of 3 in one oil in the fan. Problem solved, the GPU Idle temps drop from 80C to 65C. San Andreas again is playable. Still i search about the Copper MOD and other cooling options in the internet and saw a lot of people talking about GPU problems. Well now Im afraid of overclock again. BlackRussian talk to me to make a greater cooling to GPU. I am thinking to put a heatsink with fan in the GPU (I dont have warranty anymore) I think this would donw the temps a lot. I can make it,still I have doubt about where I can get the electricity for this new fan. Take it from the other fan or from the USB 5V. The Cooling pad not is an option because it only down 3-4 C temp because the laptop not have a lot of ventilation holes.

PS: You can think, why this boy have a M1330 for games??? Well I use the PC for everything, from web browsing and making works for the university to games, So I want the best perfomance PC for my budget. Specs: 2.4 Core 2 Duo (Dual Core), 3GB memory, 128mb Nvidia GPU, now with Windows 7 PRO, 32 bit. Before I bought the PC I ask a dell chat about the PC, I want a 13.5 inch because it is small and I take it with me everyday to the university. They suggested me M1330. If I going to buy a PC now I buy the Alienware or something like this. Really the M1330 not is a bad PC, only have bad cooling and outdated GPU. I only have a problem with a bad memory card and Dell remplaced it wit a new one (the memory damage was one day that we have a sudden power surge). Then I bought a backup battery for the laptop. If dell make a new cooling system for the M1330 and a new GPU (256 mb or 500 mb) the computer would be one of the best PC. I know that it can be made. Also make programs for old PC like ours m1300 that you can pay for a upgrade of the GPU and they can sell a better cooling systems with better materials (Not blue pad), stronger fan an a better ventilation.

I want to make a better cooling, specially for GPU (CPU temps are ok for me). The question is: From where I can get the electricity for the GPU fan? where I can search for this heatsinks and fan? Who made a thing like this before? I saw a heatsink mod here but only pics without explanation. The only MOD with explanations is BlackRussian mod.

    Thanks, Brian.

You cant cut it.. its a heat pipe. Theres working fluid inside that flows through out its length

Theres not much you can do in terms of modifying the cooling system.

Just do the copper mod, use a cooling pad and undervolt the CPU.

    Thankyou!!! I need that answer.

I think somthing like car cooling inside, so it absorb more heat. Back to the drawing stage
