Right now I am a big fan of the 1330. It has a great blend of portability and power at a reasonable price. Recently I have set out to buy a 13-14 in. laptop because larger laptops have simply become too bulky to carry around. But I have one big problem with the 1330. The graphics. The 8400 gs offered in the 1330 is good for some older games, but simply cannot compare to the 8600 gt offered in the 1530. I like to play fps and a simple goal is to play crysis on medium settings but I know I cannot do this with the 8400 gs. Is Dell going to offer a more robust graphics option for the 1330 anytime soon, like this summer?

even if dell's going to refresh the xps line, it wont be before the release of montevina mid-july/august....
dont think that dell's going to fit a 8600-or equivalent card into a 13.3" chasis, a lot of issues with heating/space.....maybe they could, but slim chance -
I was asking the same question for the m1530 and it looks like until the montevina upgrade we will see upgrades from the current graphics cards. Also the 1330 is a small laptop and its function isnt gaming so I would suggest getting a 1530 if you want to do some gaming. The M1530 is really light for its class and I can carry it for hours without feeling the weight. Its only about half a pound more than the 1330 and isn't a big of a difference.

I do not suspect that dell will ever be upgrading the XPS M1330 graphics past the 8400M GS.

The 8600M GT runs hot enough in the M1530.

(m1330, 4 cell ~ 3.7 pounds, 6 cell ~ 4.2 pounds)
(m1530, 6 cell ~ 5.8 pounds, 9 cell ~ 6.4 pounds) -
I bet when it gets the upgrade it will most likely be a 9300.
