Hey guys, ive been banging my head against the wall for two days on this one and I need some help. I installed xp on my M1330 over two years ago when I first got it, only ran Vista for about a month. And ever since I switched to XP I noticed that there was no longer an option to switch to the HDMI output for audio, but I didnt have an HDMI cable so I didnt care. Well now I have an HDMI cable and everything works great except the audio over HDMI. I am thinking that it is somehow controlled by the video driver because my roommate has the same m1330, also with XP, but with the Intel graphics and he has an option to switch to the HDMI audio and it works great. He also has an item in device manager called something like "HDMI Audio Controller" which from the research I gathered was installed by the Intel Graphics driver.
So now, is there any hope for me? Does anyone have HDMI Audio working on an nVidia m1330 with XP? Does anyone know of a fix? I REALLY need this working for an upcoming presentation that will be on a HD Projector hooked up to speakers in an auditorium, and it would be great to have at home.
Thanks Guys!

I also have XP installed on my M1330, but I’m planning to upgrade to Windows 7. What I've noticed is that if my M1330 is connected via HDMI on a TV, both devices make sound. Which is very annoying, so my solution was to put earphones/or only the plug of a broken earphone in my laptop. And put the laptop volume to the loudest and there is only sound on the TV

I actually solved my issue a few minutes after posting. Basically you have to use an nVidia driver that is <180 revision. So now I am using 179.24 and HDMI audio is working great. xileS i noticed the same thing and quickly found a fix. If you double click on the sound icon in the taskbar and then click advanced, theres a checkbox to enable/disable computer speaker muting and to enable/disable the HDMI audio out. Hope that helps so you dont have to plug something in and out anymore.

lol, I like to put something in there
j/k.
But thanks voor the info. I didn't know this was possible in XP, but little too late I'm now going to format and put Windows 7 on it now.
