    Hello,

    Can someone help me out?

I am trying to get the sound to come out of the HDMI jack of my XPS 1330 (I just picked this up refurb from the outlet a month ago). I went into the sound settings and manually selected HDMI, but still no luck. My TV displayed a message, "Incompatible sound," or something like that. Incidentally, when I look at the properties of the HDMI output, it says, "Left Panel Digital Jack" instead of HDMI jack.

Has anyone encountered this? I did a search on the forum and followed the steps to select HDMI for the sound, but its still not working and apparently my TV doesn't like it. The TV is a Sharp Aquos.

It's quite annoying; our other XPS 1330 laptop outputs the sound to the same TV no problem.

    TIA!!!

Try uninstalling then reinstalling your (video and) sound card drivers to see if it clears up the issue.
