I have a Dell M1330 with built in GM965 Graphics with the latest driver I could find on Dell's website. It used to be that when I cloned the displays, the TV would automatically would go to the highest resolution (1920x1080). Now it only goes to whatever the laptop is set to, 1280x800. The only way for me to get 1920x1080 on the TV thru the laptop is by making the TV the only active display - then I can choose the resolution to be 1920x1080 and it works fine. At one point cloning would do this automatically. How can I fix this?

Theres a difference between dual screen and cloned screen.

Cloned screen will need to have the same resolution. Obviously you cannot clone a 1920x1080 to a 1280x800 screen.

Dual screen just extends your desktop while keeping the high resolutions on both screens.

Go to the Display settings and choose the main monitor etc.
