hm.... just drivers... bleh.....
-
This is a firmware update to the drive, not a driver.
I had to update the firmware recently to be able to burn some of the new dvd's coming out on the market. One day you will need to do this if you burn alot of media like I do. -
Not valid with the "Mat****a" drive in my 1330.
-Funk -
nice, i will download this asap. Anyone notice any differences with it yet?
-
-
So far all I noticed is that it will attempt to eject (it will make the grinding sound) everytime you hit the button. So I'm guessing this will help with people who have issues ejecting discs.
-
Your right It does now make the noise if you press it with nothing in.
-
is that the only update?
-
Cannot select the drive in that firmware installer
-
Guys,
This firmware update is not just for eject "enhancements". I had issues where the burner was not burning new dvd's I had just bought. The firmware update also updates the drive's ability to recognize various new dvd media. -
Wonder how many have this drive? My M1330 has a Panasonic/Matsu****a slotload drive.
-
I have the Matsu****a drive as well and it doesn't appear as a selection in the update utility
-
Because the update isn't for that drive...it's an update for the specific firmware for a specific drive.
-
man i just installed this firmware update and it makes the eject noise when first booting much more annoying... is there anyway to revert back to the version i had? (it was the firmware update right before this one)
-
anyone know?
-
Idd the eject noise is very annoying, everytime I come out standby or hibernate, the noise is extra hard. Everyone thinks *** was that.
I hope someone knows how to go back, or hoppely it will be fixed in the next update. -
yeah its definitely a lot louder than it was, it makes me sad...
-
Am I missing something? My m1330 has been "ejecting" while start up, coming out of stand by or when pressing the eject button regardless of whether there is a CD/DVD in the slot drive or not... I wish it was only working while there was something in it; I would have been happier that way.
If I read correctly, you guys actually encountered this after installing this driver. Himm... Interesting...
I also have a MAT****A drive. -
it made a noise before, but now it makes that same noise plus another one that is much louder, its much more annoying.
-
can't you leave a dummy empty cd/dvd in there then when it comes out of Standby etc it will just try to read the disc, not eject it.
-
i dont want to do that... is there no way to roll back a firmware update or download the older version of the firmware?
-

nope... thats why im not doing it yet.... if the dvd drive cant read too many of my discs, then i'll upgrade
-
yeah i tried downloading that a few days ago but for some reason when i try to run it the installer pops up with an error saying "an invalid argument was encountered"
gotta love computers and their error messages...
sclui56 did u do anything special to install it or did u just run the installer? -

Thanks so much for the idea to disable the virtual drives! Works for virtual clone drive for me!
