Hello. My friend recently received her M1330, though a problem has arisen. It seems that when she puts down the lid/screen, the computer does not hibernate or anything. When the screen is relifted, the computer remains on but the screen stays black, unable to change despite any user input. Does anyone have an idea as to the source of the problem? I should mention that the computer was reformatted when first received. Perhaps it is a driver issue?

    Go to:

    Control Panel
    Power Options
'Choose What Closing the Lid Does'

Choose either Hibernate or Sleep for both Battery and Plugged In

The latest BIOS addresses some sleep issues as well. Download A10 from the Dell web-site.
