I've just noticed my new (couple of days) m1330 has got shiny marks on the top black plastic part of the screen surround.... this is oviously caused by the lid rubbing against the palmrest / touchpad when it is closed- what can I do about this? Will dell replace just that black plastic top part?

    Cheers

I have a small mark like that. I think it just happens so I don't pay it any mind.

Anyone else have this problem? Will Dell think i'm mad and deny any replacement of the part?

I've started to use the foam insert that goes in between the screen and the keyboard but it's a bit of a tacky solution

i don't know if they will replace it or not, but it can't hurt to find out.

if they do, they will replace the plastic surrounding the entire screen, not just the top part. if you look closely it's all one piece..

(it snaps into the back of the lid, which won't be replaced)

go ask if you want it fixed..
afterall, it's brand new and you deserve what you paid for!

    Do keep us updated.

I have the same marks... wondered about that. An improvement when they came out with the M1530 is to put 2 rubber feet on the LCD bezel to curb the rubbing.
