I'm thinking of purchasing a 1330... can i load Synoptics original drivers on it ?

The one that come on the computer don't have a way to customize the corner areas for functions etc.

    Thanks!

I know that the M1530 has a alps touchpad, and afaik the M1330 is the same, so you won't be able to put synaptics drivers on.

No, the m1330 uses Synaptics touchpad drivers. You should be able to change the driver to use the version that has zone functions. I had that one in the past.

Okay, my bad. Yes, you should be able to use the full driver, and if it doesn't work you can always just put the Dell driver back on.
