I bought a M1330 a year ago and have never been able to install a Wacom tablet on it. I've tried 3 different ones, and tried different versions of the driver but nothing works. When you plug in the tablet, it works OK, but if you install the driver (to be able to use any of the Wacom features) the display goes nuts. The cursor will start wandering around the screen jerkily and it is almost impossible to grab it and do anything (using the tablet, a mouse OR the touchpad). The only solution is to roll back to a previous state.

I'm about to reformat the Laptop and I'm hoping that will work but wondered if anyone else had experienced the problem?

You know that the pen on the surface of the tablet will act as the same area as on the screen.

Like, move the tip of the pen to the top left hand corner of the tablet surface and the cursor will move to the top left hand corner of the screen, and then lift the pen up off the tablet surface and move it above the top right hand corner of the tablet surface and the cursor on screen will 'jump' to the top right hand corner of your screen.

edit: hangover mode, sorry if i misunderstood your question

I am an avid Wacom user on all of my other machines so, yes, I do know how they are supposed to react. What I am describing is a spontaneous jerky moving of the cursor all over the screen, using any 'pointing' device, at all times, even when I am not touching any of those devices!

Maybe you could try disabling corresponding hardware in Device Manager and enable one at a time to find the culprit.
