I noticed that other Dell laptops have been problematic when used as a DAW
due to the firewire port (Ricoh). Is this a problem on the 1330 as well? I just discovered that the firewire on the m1330 is a Ricoh chip as well.

I'm planning on getting a Focusrite Saffire.

    Anyone with hands-on experience?

Well, I've been going crazy trying to get my TC Electronic's Konnekt 8 working on my M1330. It works well on my Desktop PC. But, I get drop outs after about 30 seconds. I've tried every configuration change possible and I'm convinced it must be the firewire port.
