My brightness setting is not working properly. When unplugged, the brightness stays at 50% no matter how much I tried to increase it. The brightness bar keeps resetting itself at 50%. When the system is plugged into an outlet, it gets brighter but the bar always shows 50%. What's wrong with it?

I tried changing the BIOS setting but it didn't help.

Use the search. This question has been answered three times in the last five days. Hint: you need to get into the BIOS.
